BIOSKETCH

Dr. Kamnasaran is from Edmonton (Canada), where he originally did his First degree in Genetics at the University of Alberta (with distinction) and immediately pursed a Doctorate degree in Medical Genetics (with distinction) at the same university. He then pursued a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto) and University of Toronto (University Health Network) in the discipline of Neuro-oncology. During his post-graduate academic studies and career, he was awarded more than 40 scholastic distinctions and awards from Canada and internationally, such as from the Government of Québec and Canadian Foundation for Innovation as well as several Young Investigator awards such as from the American Society for Neuro-oncology, American Association for Indian Scientist in Cancer Research, Canadian Brain Tumor Consortium and Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.  He is currently a Faculty member of the Department of Pediatrics at Laval University (Quebec city, Canada) and a Scientist at the CHU de Quebec Biomedical Research Institute (Quebec city, Canada).  His research program involves understanding the genetics of brain tumors and to discover novel therapies.
