The gliomas.org consortium is organizing its first meeting open to anyone interested in gliomas

This meeting is intended to bring together

• Basic scientists

• Neuro-pharmacologists

• Neuro-oncologists

• Neuro-surgeons

• Students (PhD, residents)

• Advocacy groups

• Support groups

The main goals of this meeting are:

• Bring the latest updates in brain tumor biology and its implications in translational neuro-oncology

• Increase awareness in the scientific community of current concepts of glioma biology, pharmacology and neurosurgery techniques.

• Integrate the needs from glioma researchers with fundraisers in order to maximize resources and accelerates the finding of effective therapies for patients.

This is important because despite billions of dollars spent on cancer research, the overall survival for glioma patients has only modestly increased during the last 40 years.
